2015 Pinot noir ~ Jessie James Vineyard

2015 Pinot noir ~ Jessie James Vineyard

Mature vines at Jessie James Vineyard are deeply-rooted in rocky, volcanic soil at high elevation in the Eola-Amity Hills. Sustainable farming practices are mindfully complemented by dry-farming (no irrigation), allowing the grapes to reflect the growing season. 2015 harvest conditions were outstanding, and vinification proceeded slowly with native yeasts. The wine was aged for 20 months in barrels coopered from local Oregon oak (Quercus garryana), native to the Willamette Valley. Soulfully aromatic and structured — deep red fruit, spice and forest floor, vibrant acidity and  fine tannins — this long-aging, terroir-expressive Pinot Noir was artisanally-produced in limited quantity with uncompromising expectations of quality.
