2016 Pinot noir ~ Yamhill Springs Vineyard
In the foothills of Oregon's Coast Range, within the Willamette Valley's Yamhill-Carlton AVA, old vines at Yamhill Springs Vineyard are rooted in Bellpine soil, composed of ancient marine sediments. Dry-farming, without irrigation, allows the grapes to reflect the growing season. 2016 harvest conditions were excellent, and vinification proceeded slowly with native yeasts. The wine was aged in cooperage locally-produced from Oregon oak (Quercus garryana), native to the Willamette Valley. Expressive aromatics of ripe red fruits and spice are complimented by an elegantly-balanced texture and long finish. This terroir-expressive Pinot Noir was artisanally-produced in limited quantity with uncompromising expectations of quality.
